Profile
Setting
Nestled on the slopes of the Dassenberg Mountains, Leeu Estates is a 78-hectare wine farm that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards, lush gardens, and indigenous fynbos. The estate is owned by Indian entrepreneur Analjit Singh, who was drawn to the property during a serendipitous visit to Franschhoek in 2010. The name Leeu (Afrikaans for lion) is a nod to Singh’s surname, which means lion in Sanskrit. The estate combines luxurious living with a deep sense of peace and connection to nature.
Lodgings
Leeu Estates offers a variety of accommodation options, including three room types (Classic, Deluxe, and Studio), three suite types (Executive, Executive with Terrace, and Manor House), and six private cottages. Each option is elegantly and uniquely designed with bespoke furnishings, natural materials, calming colors, and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a tranquil and luxurious stay.
Things to Do
Guests can enjoy a peaceful stroll through the Bokkie Garden, followed by a visit to the Leeu Spa by Healing Earth, which boasts stunning views and an inviting indoor plunge pool. The estate’s renowned restaurant, The Dining Room, offers delicious meals throughout the day, and the Wine Studio provides complimentary wine tastings of Mullineux and Leeu Family Wines. A short, complimentary shuttle service transports guests to the charming Franschhoek High Street.
